Does what it should.

Glad to have found this RSS reader. Heres my wish list: -indication that its resting/searching -ability to export the feeds list (it CAN import) -ability to congifure how frequently it checks feeds It does what it should. Quite satisfied.

Yes I love 1.7. I have seen the face of God !! Flows harmoniously with Mac OSX. I originally downloaded it because my present employer sent some forms to me on it. And I wanted feeds other than social media. I am the kind of guy who needs his kids to help with these things and I havent had to ask.

So Far..So Good

I have been using RSS Bot for a couple of months now. It has helped me find new projects (craigslist) and keeps me up to date on a bike I am looking for. Great RSS tool.

Great app

Amazing small app, just what I need! Hidden within the main bar is the best location I can imagine for my RSS news. Great app.

Gets to the point without clutter.

I love using this reader but the only problem is it suddenly closes after i click on a heading to read without warning then i lose the article. bummer. May keep it but will still be looking for the perfect reader.

Used to work before update.

I have had this app for over 6 months and had very few issues (crashes)…until the update. Around the same time as this update, the software on my mac also updated. Ever since I updated the two, it takes over two minutes ( sometimes longer) to even have the app open. Then I have to scroll down to said news ( I have multiple news sources) then it takes about ANOTHER two minutes ( or more) for it load. I don’t have time to wait for it work for EVERY news article I want to see. Again, I am not sure if this has to corralate with the computer update. Also around this time my computer is now on FIRE. It gets REALLY REALLY hot ( which it never did before) I hope that this issue can be fixed so I can be updated with the most recent news :)

Elegantly simple

Perfect when you don’t want bells and whistles, just RSS feeds. My preferred RSS feeder.

I love this app!

Does the trick! Simple as that! :-)

not that great

the navigation through this app is horrible for someone inexperienced. just get the other app to help you download your news sites. couldnt figure this one out for a half hour. downloaded, the different news app, and figured it out in 30 seconds. most wierd app ive ever downloaded. not user friendly.

Great RSS App

Exactly what I was looking for in a RSS app. Simple to use, and stays out of the way when I donn’t need it. Great to see updates available from the Menubar.

DO NOT UPDATE

I updated now RSS Bot will not add new post

Whats it supposed to do?

Maverick took away the RSS feed so I am trying out the app store. So far 2 for 2 dont work. This one sits there and does nothing. I keep hitting the refresh and finally it gave me 2 articles out of 7 feeds. Someone needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Adware?!

I installed this looking for a replacement for another RSS notification app which doesn’t properly handle relative links. Anyway, on first run it immediately prompted me to install another app. It then randomly popped up ad notifications for FIPLAB’s other products. I would gladly pay for a decent RSS reader, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone use this.

Very unreliable

Version 1.9 on Yosemite does not update feeds -- need to quit and restart the program every couple hours to keep remotely current. If you want a reliable monitor for RSS feeds, look elsewhere.

Really useful app

I just recently started using RSS feeds for school and this app has proved itself to be an invaluable way for me to stay up to date with a variety of blogs from my professors and peers. I do have a suggestion for an improvement, and that would be to have it sync your saved RSS feeds across multiple devices. I own two computers and sometimes have trouble remembering which feeds I have saved on which devices. Having the ability to synchronize my feeds across multiple devices would be absolutely wonderful!

Time saver! Processing power issue.

UPDATE: While I insist on keeping this a 4-star review I have to report that RSS Bot has become completely unusable because of some sort of sluggishness and “beachballing” along with high processing use. Unfortunately I have had to basically abandon it until this is fixed. The ability to bring the information to you that you want and/or need is the biggest time-saver for me. I have noticed that for some odd reason RSS Bot consumes 100-percent of my processing power and shows up in the battery menu under “apps using significant energy.” Not sure why this is, but obviously this is the place for immediate improvement. A suggestion would be the ability to individually set retrieval times for individual feeds. For example, breaking news would be better at 5-minute intervals while a tech-related article might be hourly. This might immediately factor into an energy-saving improvement. Lastly, and I kind of wonder why Apple hasn’t thought of this, but in their Notification Center, why not include a “ticker bar” option—where important notifications scroll across the bottom fo the screen? My other often running RSS app that does this is ZipLine, which used to be in the App Store but isn’t anymore. Anyway, keep up the improvements!

Doesn’t work with Firefox

Kept giving me an error about allowing cookies…but they were allowed. Didn’t want to take the time to figure this out and the developed website is useless. There are other RSS readers to try!

Best RSS app i’ve used

The first RSS app that hasn’t crashed on me. I love the fact it can handle subscriptions that are under sites with login names and passwords. It remembers the password and sends you straight to the post without directing you to another site first. Love this app. I hope more updates that deal with personalization (colors, fonts, etc) will be in the works soon. I would def. pay for it. Great no fuss app that you can depend on to do what its suppose to do!. love this app!

Doesn’t work and company website gives me 404

Seems this app has been abandoned. It doesn’t return any feeds. I went to the dev’s support page and the app isn’t listed anywhere. When I go to their direct site I get a 404 - Site Not Found error. Don’t waste your time on this one.

RSS Bot Very compact and to the point.

I like the RSS Bot because it takes little room and is accessed easily with a click. Info comes right up and close right back out of the wat for me to continue. Very nice and fast.
